Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

The lowest-scoring CFL championship game in history, the 1933 Grey Cup featured the league’s iconic Toronto Argonauts taking on two-time Grey Cup champion, the Sarnia Imperials. Held at Davis Field in Sarnia, Ontario, on Dec 9, 1933, the match included just four single “Rouge” points scored along with a lone Argos field goal for a 4-3 Toronto victory. This small metal ship thought to serve as a paperweight was, according to our consignor, originally presented to players and coaches, with this specimen said to hail from CFL HOF player Wes Cutler. At approx 2 ½” x 2 ½” with an extended lip over the reverse, “Argos” appears over the left in raised letters, with “1933” over the right. There are no engraved marks visible, with moderate to heavier surface wear throughout including a bit of pitting.
