Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Formed just after the turn of the century and a staple on breakfast tables throughout Canada and the United States for over a hundred years, the Quaker Oats Company enlisted none other than Babe Ruth to serve as company spokesman, and issued a “Babe Ruth’s Baseball Club” pinback that was accompanied by a small membership card like the offered example. At 2” x 3 ½” and featuring the image of the Sultan of Swat utilized for the pinback, the small card is accompanied by it’s rarely seen original “Babe Ruth’s Baseball Club” envelope (slightly larger than the card), with both exhibiting some even toning. As an added bonus, an always desirable 1933-34 General Motors Hockey Broadcast Guide is also included (4” x 6”), with numerous individual player and team photos along with a full NHL schedule. The book displays well with light to moderate handling wear.
