A tad late to the Long Island party, joining the New York Islanders immediately after the club celebrated their final Stanley Cup championship, Pat LaFontaine would spend eight seasons in The Big Apple before moving upstate to Buffalo, in 1991-92. This model of stick was used by the star during the late-1980s/early-1990s, with both the Isles and Sabres, and it’s been signed. A Louisville TPS model with “Lafontaine” stamped, the original black tape remains over the blade and white over the knob, with a piece of tape added to the lower shaft. The striping accents remain mostly intact, with Pat signing over the heel section in black marker. The stick itself shows heavy game-use, with wear to the blade including the underside along with heavy additional wear to the shaft including chipping, paint transfer, marks and surface abrasions. Originating from the personal collection of Hall of Fame superstar Bob Gainey, his signed LOA will accompany.
