Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020

Eclipsing the 1,000 point total over his 15 NHL seasons, Pat LaFontaine spent the majority of his career split between Long Island and Buffalo, with 5 All-Star Game appearances made along with winning the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for his “perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey”, in 1995. Hailing from his rookie era circa 1984-85, this stick was used by the 2003 Hall of Fame inductee. A Sher-Wood PMP 5030 Feather-Lite model, this is the type of stick LaFontaine used in his first couple NHL seasons. Sporting the original black tape over the blade and white (now yellow) wrap over the handle, “LaFontaine” and “16” are stamped to the upper shaft, with an illegible red date stamp visible along the lower underside. Showing great game-use with wear to the taped section of blade including the underside, there are also marks to the lower shaft and small areas of both red and blue paint transfer. Pat has signed on the lower shaft just above the mostly intact striping accent, adding a personalization and “Best Wishes”.
