Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Saying goodbye to an especially successful past and ushering in a new era of modernity for the Montreal Canadiens, the hallowed Montreal Forum served as the home of the Habs and a refuge for those inflicted with hockey fever for over 70 years before closing, in 1996. Opening its doors to the hockey-centric populous of Montreal on March 16, 1996, the Bell Centre (formerly Molson Centre) boasts the largest capacity for any NHL building. Hailing from the opening of the Bell Centre, we have a Habs jersey signed by Canadiens legends Jean Beliveau, Henri Richard and the Rocket. Sporting “54” sizing along with a tackle twill team crest and numbers, the consignors surname appears over the nameplate (removable), along with a McCord Museum “Montreal Tout est Hockey” crest over the right breast, advertising an exhibit that was held in 1996. All three deceased legends have signed the team crest in black marker, with some bleeding to both the Rocket and Beliveau signatures.
