Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Beginning play in the NCAA’s Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 1968, the St John’s University Johnnies have compiled an impressive record of 360 wins, 270 losses and 56 ties over their first 37 collegiate seasons. This St John’s jersey was worn by an unknown team member during the early-1970s, most likely in 1974-75 as evidenced by the “4” tag placed beneath the sizing tag. A Stall & Dean label and size “52” fly tag are affixed to the collar, along with “Mens” and laundering labels. Styled with “St. John’s” placed across the chest in individual, single red twill letters, “4” appears over the sleeves and verso in single twill, with no fight strap present or affixed nameplate. Nice game use is exhibited on the vintage garment, with marks over the front, along with two small team repairs near the left elbow section.
