Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

A University of Maine alum, spending a trio of seasons with the Black Bears in the late-1980s, Bob Beers was drafted by Boston in 1985 and would spend parts of four seasons with the club, with additional NHL time skating for the Oilers, Islanders and Lightning. This New York Islanders jersey was worn by the Pittsburgh native in 1994-95, his first of two seasons on Long Island. A CCM label and size “54” fly tag grace the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the familiar Islanders team crest fully administered in tackle twill, the royal blue V-neck has been accented with layered tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Beers” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. Exhibiting great game use with marks over the front and sleeves, there are also board burns with small resulting holes near each elbow section, with additional burns on the right shoulder. The team stamp resides over the inside hem, and it denotes “Set 1”. We should also note that the image used for this listing appears to be showing the burn marks on the right shoulder area, but the image is not high resolution enough to call a definitive photo-match.
