Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
The only perfecto in World Series history, Don Larsen set the baseball world on fire in Game 5 of the 1956 Fall Classic, when Brooklyn’s Dale Mitchell served as the final out in the ninth to give the Yankees the victory, and Larsen the first perfect game in 34 years. Celebrating the iconic feat, we have a trio of framed photo displays signed by the legendary Bombers’ hurler. At 8” x 10” and with a pair matching, each photo has been signed in blue sharpie, including one depicting the first pitch by Larsen, and a pair showing the Ace completing his final pitch. Each photo with fitting pinstripe double-matting has a plaque and pin inserted, with holograms affixed to each including from Steiner, with COAs affixed to the reverse of each frame (we should also note wear along with a few small chips to the frames).
