Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
Known affectionately as The China Wall, netminder Johnny Bower spent the majority of his career with the Toronto Maple Leafs, preceded by parts of nine seasons with the AHL’s Cleveland Barons which included a trio of Calder Cup victories. We have a signed Leafs jersey and signed framed display. First, entitled “Scrapbook of Johnny Bower” and celebrating his time in Cleveland, the framed display feature’s a copy of original artwork of Bower by Lou Darvas, with the star goaltender adding a beautiful blue sharpie signature. Double-matted and framed to 20 ½” x 22 ½”, a “Bower Authentic” seal is visible over the bottom right. The jersey was produced by CCM with “XL” sizing and tackle twill team crest and numbers, with Bower signing the reverse “1” in black marker, adding “HHOF 76”, with the signature bleeding into the material somewhat.
