Terrific and seldom offered souvenir from the epic Canada-Russia battle of 1972, this high quality Omega Speedmaster Professional model watch was presented to Rod Seiling. One of only about 50 made for Team Canada 1972 players, management and officials, this extremely rare Omega watch from Seiling’s personal collection is the lone award that was presented to team members following their victory over the Soviet Union in the legendary Summit Series. "Team Canada 1972 Rod Seiling" is engraved on the back alongside the Omega Speedmaster logo. The watch, which displays obvious proud wear, can be wound-up and appears to be keeping time. Extremely scarce, this special keepsake is one that is rarely offered for public auction. A signed LOA from Rod Seiling will accompany.
This historic watch displays plenty of wear including scratches and scuffs to metal casing and the crystal but still displays nicely. The winding crown seems to be in working condition, and the hour, minute and second hands all seem to be properly working. The upper, and lower, push buttons both seem to be working properly as well. The smaller seconds and minutes hands both seem to be working properly while the lower small hour hand doesn’t seem to be in working order. Addendum; please take note that the watch is missing its bezel.
