Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2020
After winning the Stanley Cup a few months earlier, the Toronto Maple Leafs hosted the NHL’s best players in the 18th NHL All-Star Game on October 10, 1964. The visitors ultimately prevailed that evening by a 3-2 score and Jean Beliveau of the Montreal Canadiens was named the contest’s Most Valuable Player. We are pleased to offer an original program from that evening which features over 20 signatures on the front cover – many coming from members of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Among the talents that signed in blue ballpoint ink on this historical program are Hall-of-Famers Jean Beliveau, Bobby Hull, Norm Ullman, Pierre Pilote, Frank Mahovlich, Johnny Bucyk, Andy Bathgate, Jacques Laperriere, Alex Delvecchio, Johnny Bower, Harry Howell, Red Kelly, Bill Gadsby, Glenn Hall, Allan Stanley and Henri Richard, along with Original Six mainstays Bob Nevin, Eddie Shack, Don McKenney, Ron Stewart, Ron Ellis, and more! The signatures display well despite being somewhat “bunched-up”, with heavier wear to the program including separations along the spine with both covers almost detached, with toning to the interior pages along with the odd crease or tear. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany this historic multi-signed All-Star Game program.
