Fanatical collectors of Montreal Canadiens cards and collectibles have often found IGA issues from the late-1960s challenging to track down, with a years-in-the-making collection offered here. Little stamp-size "punch out" cards from IGA's initial series/contest in 1967-68 total ten (five rare short-printed examples are not present) and have been graded by SGC. Best at NM+ 7.5 is Backstrom, followed by three NM 7s (Harris, Gilles & J.C. Tremblay) and two EX/NM 6s; Ferguson and Rousseau. There's also Harper at EX 5, Duff and Worsley at VG/EX 4 and Larose at VG 3. Increasing in size and numbers (to 23) are Series 2 cards from '67-68, with a complete set included here. We spot just one creased example (Harris), with "1968-69" penned to the border of the Toe Blake card and nine miscut cards lacking one of their four white borders. Meanwhile, a set of 19 from '68-69 features full-body images against a light blue background, with four examples graded. Henri Richard (7.5 NM+), Dick Duff (7 NM) and John Ferguson (6.5 ENM+) are in KSA holders, while encapsulated by SGC is Jacques Laperriere (VG/EX 4). All but one of the others (Rousseau) are crease-free, with "1968-69" in pen added to a border of the Worsley. Completing the offering are '69-70 O-Pee-Chee stamp inserts. A near set (24/25) is lacking Mikita, with all but Hull (MC) and Ratelle stamps (with tabs) showing evidence of once having been affixed. A dozen similar duplicates are throw-ins. Intriguing ensemble of little collectibles will have big appeal to some collectors.
