A tremendous and very infrequent opportunity here for vintage Canadian Football League card enthusiasts with this hoard of Parkhurst’s scarce 1952 issue, the quantity of which we have never handled before. The cards (all considered rookie cards) feature players from the "Big Four" IRFU teams; Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Hamilton, along with 19 instructional (how-to-play-football) cards, written by Ted Reeve. The set includes two different #58 cards and no #62 card, with all present here in a stack dominated by VG, VG+ and VG-EX (in appearance) examples, with a small per cent better/worse and few obvious creases observed. The key Sam Etcheverry rookie displays as a VG card with however six ink marks on the left edge. A little over two dozen others have varying amounts of similar marks, not really noticeable at first but more so when the cards are in a pile. Other notables with the marks are Alouettes Herb Trawick, and Red O'Quinn, with other key cards (without marks) being Virgil Wagner, Vince Scott, Peter Neumann, Bernie Custis and #100-Bobby Simpson. .....Meanwhile, the duplicates (and triplicates) are in lesser, low grade condition with however just 14 cards required to complete a second set. The keys are all present except Vince Scott, with the Etcheverry F-G with no unsightly creases but a reddish mark near the top border. There are two extras of Trawick, O'Quinn and Neumann, with a back variation spotted on those of Neumann and pictured below. Numbers not present in the second set are 3, 5, 8, 38, 45, 62, 67, 77, 79-81, 83, 84 and 95. All sorts of possibilities with this inviting stash.
