Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Always in demand, Gordie Howe remains one of the most collected of all North American athletes, with any and all Mr Hockey items vigorously sought. We offer a bit of relief for those inflicted with “Howeitis”, with a small group of Gordie items ready to please. First, we have a 1968-69 Gordie Howe Shirriff hockey coin graded PSA 9, with this followed by a 1962-63 El Producto set of 6 hockey coasters including Howe (along with Beliveau, Keon, Hall, Richard, and Frank Mahovlich), with all six still attached accordion-style (excellent condition, with an indentation over the Mahovlich image), and a 1963-64 York Peanut Butter hockey card album with Howe on the cover (excellent condition with toning and a few small marks). Rounding out the lot, we have two matching circa 1977-78 Gordie Howe Sports Deck hockey playing card sets, with one still sealed in cellophane, the other, in the original box, which is also sealed in cellophane. The final item is a rarely seen circa 1980 Gordie Howe Hartford Whalers matchbook (no matches), flattened, with an image of Gordie in his Whalers uniform (moderate wear with a few creases).
