Assuming captain’s duties for the Washington Capitals for a portion of the 1975-76 NHL season, Bill Clement had spent the previous four seasons in Philadelphia with the Flyers, winning back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 1974 and 1975. Awarded for Philadelphia’s status as West Division regular season champions in 1973-74, we have the Clarence Campbell championship trophy originally presented to the two-time NHL All-Star. At 11” in height, the silver-plated handled cup with removable lid and chased detailing sits atop a hexagon-shaped 3-inch wooden base and is engraved “Philadelphia Flyers – 1973-74 – Bill Clement” on one side, with the name of the trophy and its "1968" year of inception on the other. A signed LOA from Bill Clement will accompany.
Sporting an even layer of tarnish throughout, there are small areas of wear, with a bit of surface loss over the handles, lid, finial and at the base of the bowl, with additional wear along the rim of the bow and lid. Despite these cosmetic flaws, the trophy displays beautifully. We should also note that the lid is now firmly attached to the bowl.
