Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
The man whose presence on the ice gave linemate Wayne Gretzky more room to maneuver, Dave Semenko would spend the majority of his career in an Oilers sweater, with Stanley Cup championships won in 1984 and 1985. Offered here is Semenko's Oilers track suit from the 1978-79 WHA season. Dave's #27 in cracked orange and blue vinyl is screened onto white canvas over the reverse of the sweater and front of the pants. With no labeling present, the blue sweatshirt has the team's familiar oil drop logo screened onto the left breast, with a circular team repair just to the left above the "2" on the back, with three more examples around the collar. More extensive team repairs - particularly around the crotch - were made to the sweatpants.
