Desirable items originally presented to the Rocket are offered, with five different frames/displays, magazine and programs (18), and a few signed items as well. Included, we have a signed and framed letter from the Quebec Premier Robert Bourassa addressed to Richard (13 ½” x 16”), a “Salon du Sportsman de Montreal” award from 1957 (5 ¼” x 15” at the widest points), a shield-shaped Fraternal Order of Eagles award from 1959 (13” x 19”), a framed certificate from the Sportsmen’s Association of Montreal from 1953 (15 ½” x 19 ½”) and a framed “Athlete of the Year Award” for 1947 (13" x 17"). The magazines/booklets include Blueline from 1956, Sport Revue from 1958, Les Sports from 1954, Le Rosaire from 1960, L’Epopee des Canadiens” from 1949 and more, with Richard on most covers, with the signed items to include a first day cover from 2000 along with eight matching reproduced Blueline magazine covers (5” x 7”). Family LOAs will accompany for each of the display pieces along with all of the magazines/booklets.
Also included (with no COA), there is a letter on Canadiens letterhead addressed to Maurice from 1955 (wear and fold lines). The frames/displays all show wear commensurate with their former use, with the Sportsmen’s Association of Montreal showing the most wear to the frame, with numerous scratches. The magazines/booklets also includes six programs from the 1940s of assorted leagues including a few Habs exhibition examples, with a team photo on the cover of a Sherbrooke Sporting Club booklet (7” x 10”).
