A standout during his time with the University of New Hampshire, Bob Miller represented the US at the 1976 Winter Olympics before experiencing seven seasons of NHL hockey, mostly with Boston. The Medford native also appeared for his country at the 1981 Canada Cup as well as the World Championships, in 1977, 1981, 1982 and 1985. This Team USA jersey was worn by Miller at the 1982 IIHF World Championships, with the tournament won by a powerful Russian squad. A Cooper label is affixed to the collar, with a second Cooper logo over the reverse hem, with the vintage sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 50. Featuring “USA” placed diagonally across the chest in individual red-over-white tackle twill letters, “18” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with a single white twill star placed over each shoulder.
Exhibiting great game use, there are a few stick marks over the team crest, with small slits over the lower right front. There are also heavy board burns over the left sleeve with resulting holes, with a few additional small holes from burns visible near the right cuff.
