Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
A large grouping serving as an instant collection, this lot contains 25 bats game-used by Montreal Expos players (three are just game-issued). A number of models are present including Louisville, Cooper, Worth, Zinger and others, with most having the players name over the barrel and number written over the knob, with varying degrees of game use exhibited within the collection. We should also note that a number of bats would have been used with other clubs. Highlights in the collection include Terry Francona (Worth bat, cracked with a large section of handle missing), Michael Barrett (Louisville model, with repaired handle crack), Henry Rodriguez (Rawlings model, cracked barrel) and Mark Grudzielanek (Rawlings model). The game-issued bats include Angel Martinez, Joe Horgan and Einar Díaz. All proceeds from the sale of this lot will go to the Kat D DIPG Foundation at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
Uncracked bats in the collection include Benitez (Arizona), Fernandez, Chen (Mets), Lara, Harris (San Diego), Machado (Chicago) and one other. The cracked bats include Rivera, Gonzalez, Flynn, Zeile (Philadelphia), Andrews, Collier, Stairs (Chicago), Harris, Peters, Fonville (Los Angeles) and Delino DeShields.
