Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Hockey’s first million-dollar man, Bobby Hull shocked the hockey world when he announced that he would be leaving the NHL to accept the offer from the Winnipeg Jets in 1972-73, which included a million-dollar signing bonus. This desirable signed stick saw action in the hands of The Golden Jet in 1978. A Northland Registered Pattern model, “B. Hull” is stamped over the upper shaft, with a pattern number listed on each side of the shaft along with a factory code along the underside. The original black tape is intact on the blade with white over the shaved handle and knob, with Hull signing the upper shaft in black marker, adding a personalization to the flawless signature along with “1978”. A hologram has been added to the underside of the shaft, with a PSA/DNA sticker numbered “AD45799” placed adjacently.
The stick shows light use, with a few puck marks visible on the front side of the blade. The fiberglass at the tip of the blade is separated, with a bit of clear tape added to the blade. Overall, the stick remains completely solid, with the signature gorgeous.
