Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Spending two decades with the Montreal Canadiens and later serving as one of hockey’s unofficial ambassadors, Jean Beliveau was honoured by the Habs just months after retiring at the conclusion of the 1970-71 NHL season, when his iconic #4 was raised to the rafters of the Montreal Forum, on Oct 9, 1971. We have a great collection of #4 jersey numbers totaling 78 signed by the legendary superstar. At approx 7 ½” x 11 ½” and offered in both white (40) and royal blue (38), the white numbers have all been signed in blue marker, with approx 10 featuring good signatures in thin blue ink with light bleeding, 13 that have small issues including gaps within the signatures, while the final 17 have been signed in thicker blue sharpie, with considerable bleeding. The blue numbers include 9 signed in white that display well along with 29 signed in gold, with these signatures blending heavily into the dark background. An LOA from the Beliveau family will accompany.
