Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Originating from the fabled Chicago Stadium - home of the Chicago Black Hawks for over 60 years - we have a desirable single red seat, accompanied by a matching red base. Opening in 1929, the Chi-town venue served as the city’s premier arena and concert home until closing its doors in 1994. At 31 ½” in height, the somewhat free-standing solid red seat features cast construction with wooden slats, with the original metal tag with seat number now lost. The base is approx 24” x 27”, with a small plaque affixed listing it’s history and particulars including “Genuine Box Seat from Chicago Stadium” and “Authenticity Guaranteed by the Chicago Stadium Corporation”. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
With moderate to heavier surface wear including paint loss to a few of the wooden slats, the metal components also show surface wear and minor paint loss, especially over the lower sections. The base exhibits surface wear as well, with the screws need to mount the chair to the base included.
