Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020

Some decent and some sharp material from the good old 1970s to tell you about here with no crisp, high grade examples spotted in a 1973-74 O-Pee-Chee set, although mostly VG-EX to EX cards equal the decent part. We see the key Larry Robinson rookie as an EX+ (off-centered) entry, with the Billy Smith RC among the condition exceptions; multi-creased and P-F. Checklists 116 and 129 are marked and creased, with the unmarked #263 checklist VG. Grey backs (112) dominate 1st Series cards and are the minority (55) in the 2nd Series, but overall outnumber their lighter counterparts 167 to 97. .....Two of three WHA sets are the sharp part, with EX-MT-or-better examples the norm in a 66-card '74-75 assembly, with #1-The Howes (EX+) and the (unmarked, off-centered) checklist (VG+) among the minimal exceptions. A '77-78 WHA ensemble, again a 66-card affair, exhibits very little handling/wear, with EX-MT and NMs dominating, but again with card #1-Gordie Howe (EX) not quite as nice. Completing things is a not-so-nice '76-77 WHA 132-card set which includes some dinged corners, creases, etc. and which averages around VG+.
