Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020

Intriguing offering here features impressive 1st Series cards that have us questioning whether we've ever handled a superior group. EX-MT and NM cards dominate, with hardly a crease spotted. The #2-Orr card has some chipping along the back (red) edge but is otherwise EX+, while a diamond cut is observed on the key Bernie Parent RC, o/w NM, with 64-Redmond RC at NM-MT. Howe (#29) is one of the few affected by a notorious horizontal printing "line"/crease. Crease-free checklists are led by #61 (NM (OC)), with intermittent slight diamond cuts to note. Although with similarly attractive cards, 2nd Series entries, overall, are lesser, with notably two dozen creased or with unsightly flaws, including most of the all-star and trophy winner cards at the end. Orr All-Star (#200) is VG-EX, with 214-Orr Norris G+. A rather alluring "Puck Sticker" insert set is a fabulous complement to the set, with condition details on our website.
The puck stickers, with the exception of 15-Plante, are free of often-seen factory "prick" marks and are mostly crease-free and in the EX+ to EX-MT range. Three specs of adhesive loss on the back of the Orr example are to note (otherwise EX), with #22 a card-like affair with blank/adhesive back and hailing Gordie Howe's 700th career goal (EX-MT). It, the Orr and 15 others, it should be noted, measure markedly "short", but it appears the factory was responsible and that they were not trimmed intentionally. .....Meanwhile, among the aforementioned lesser lights in 2nd Series cards, most notables are 140-Cheevers, 155-Mikita, 198-Keon and all all-stars and trophy winners except for 202-Mikita AS and 208-Esposito AS. Numerous possibilities with these hobby favorites.
