Backstopping nine different NHL clubs throughout his lengthy career, Sean Burke has also represented Canada on the international scale, taking part in the Canada Cup, World Championships and Winter Olympics. We have a photo-matched Coyotes jersey from his time in Phoenix in 2002-03, with this example worn for a single contest during the Los Angeles season opener on Oct 9th, an evening that witnessed the Kings retiring Wayne Gretzky’s iconic number. A “Goalie Style” label and size “60” fly tag sit affixed to the collar, with KOHO and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and back bottom hem respectively. Styled with a thick and attractive Coyotes team crest with embroidered detailing, the black V-neck has been embellished with beige-over-burgundy tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate crests over the left shoulder and the important “99” patch just above the right breast.
Worn for just the single retirement night contest on Oct 9th 2002, there is just a bit of wear present, with the jersey in gorgeous condition. Getty Images #1480227 and #1480249 have both been matched to the size and placement of the extra black threading at the junction of the chevron pattern on the top of the left sleeve, while Getty Image #1480302 has been matched to the alignment of the graphics on the right side hem.
