Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Currently on top of the hockey world as a Stanley Cup champion, taking the monkey of defeat - and Sidney Crosby - off his back, Alexander Ovechkin has appeared in ten NHL All-Star contests, with seven Maurice Richard awards won as the league’s top goal scorer. We have a signed stick used by Ovechkin in just his second season, in 2006-07. A CCM Vector model with “OVI 8” present but heavily worn over the upper shaft, the original white tape is present on the blade and lower shaft, with white cloth over the handle – with this reinforced at the base with white electrical tape. A factory code of "5-0761-7" has also been stamped to the underside of the shaft.
Exhibiting nice use with puck marks to the taped sections of the blade and lower shaft, there is also red paint transfer over the handle. Alex has signed just below the front side heel in blue marker, and the signature stands out beautifully against the white background.
