Arguably the greatest artist to ever portray sports, LeRoy Neiman wonderfully depicted everything from baseball to horse racing, with his original works highly prized by collectors for decades. We have a trio of Neiman works that have been signed by the deceased legend. First, we have a poster from the 1982 World Heavyweight Championship between Larry Holmes and Gerry Cooney, with the artwork for the advertising executed by Neiman, with both LeRoy and Holmes signing the "open edition" work. At 21 ½” x 27 ½” (exposed) and featuring wonderful images of the pair, Neiman has signed along the base, Holmes further up by his image, with both black marker signatures flawless. Framed to full dimensions of approx 29 ½” x 35 ½”, a sticker from PSA/DNA numbered “P15532” has been placed over the lower right, with the paper over the backing on the reverse torn/loose in a few spots. Next, we have a framed early-1970s magazine featuring National and American League all-stars, with many drawings from Neiman, with the artist signing over the lower right in green ink, with the signature a gorgeous example. Framed to full dimensions of approx 15 ½” x 18 ½”, the magazine exhibits wear along the spine, with a few creases and light folds visible. Finally, we have a Shea Stadium football program for a match between the Jets and San Diego Chargers on Oct 5, 1968. Featuring an attractive cover done in Neiman’s style, the artist has signed over the upper right in black marker, with the signature displaying especially well. The program itself shows light to moderate wear, with a PSA/DNA sticker numbered “AC59491” placed over the bottom left, and a matching COA to accompany.
