Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
From the immortal Summit Series, we have an attractive commemorative silver coin. At 2” in diameter and with a weight of approx 68 grams, the silver coin’s obverse features crossed Canadian and Russian flags embossed atop a laurel wreath with “Hockey Canada 1972”. This central image is flanked by “Canada vs USSR” engraved on each side. The reverse features an embossed image of two generic players chasing after a puck, one representing each country. Stamped “Sterling” along the edge, there are also 3 additional hallmarks along with the serial number of “01103”. In beautiful condition, the coin exhibits just light handling wear to both the obverse and reverse, with a few very minor scratches over the reverse.
