Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Three legends who came up big in important games for the Montreal Canadiens come up here in encapsulated form, with Ken Dryden's riveting 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee rookie card, released after he had backstopped the Habs to the Stanley Cup the previous spring, leading chronologically. A couple of obvious creases, measuring between an inch and two inches, and some soiling in the lower (white) region contributed to the GOOD 2 grade it received from PSA. Meanwhile, the rookie card of Patrick Roy, another Conn Smythe Trophy winner and Stanley Cup hero, is near perfect in the eyes of Beckett graders. Roy's '86-87 OPC rookie is slabbed 7.5 Near Mint+, with the centering (7) the lowest of the four sub grades, the others all 9 or higher. A second-year Roy OPC representative ('87-88 #163) is a PSA EX 5, while second-year OPC cards of Dryden and Guy Lafleur (2) are also housed in PSA holders. The '72-73 Dryden (#145) is an EX-MT 6, with both of the Lafleurs (#59) receiving EX 5 assessments. Three important contributors to multiple Stanley Cup triumphs await your bid.
