Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Their 83rd overall season in the NHL, the New York Rangers retired Andy Bathgate's number 9 and Harry Howell's number 3 jerseys in 2008-09, with the club advancing to the playoffs but losing in the Eastern Conference Quarter-finals to the Washington Capitals. From that very season of 2008-09, we have a goal mask signed by the Rangers squad. A Franklin GFM1000 model with a patriotic Statue of Liberty motif, team emblems have been placed over the chin, forehead and each lower side, with 22 signing in silver paint pen, including Staal, Lundqvist, Redden, Callahan, Betts, Voros, Valiquette, Orr, Fritsche, Giardi and others. The signatures display beautifully against the darker background, with a couple lightly smudged/touched from handling. A hologram from CSI has been affixed near the forehead, with a COA to accompany. A 14” x 11” x 12” (the base extends) plexiglass display case with a small plaque affixed to the front is also included.
