Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

A huge component of Chicago’s 2010 Stanley Cup championship when he tended the Black Hawks net in 22 playoff games, we have a stick used by goaltender Antti Niemi during his rookie campaign that very season, in 2009-10. The type of stick the Finn used beginning near the end of the season and throughout the playoffs and Stanley Cup finals, the TPS Response RFC8 model sports “Niemi” stamped over the upper shaft, with the original white tape over the blade, upper shaft and knob. Heavy use is visible assuring prolonged use, with numerous puck marks over both sides of the blade, along with additional marks and abrasions to the paddle and shaft. There is also some chipping along the underside edge of the lower paddle. Despite these issues, the important rookie lumber displays well.
