Beginning as the Toledo Goaldiggers in 1974, the Kansas City Blades participated in the IHL from 1990 to 2001, and were the primary affiliate of the San Jose Sharks from 1991 to 1996. We have a Blades jersey circa 1990-91, with this example attributed to seventh-overall 1986 NHL draft selection Dan Woodley. A sewn down label is affixed to the collar, with the jersey measuring out to a size 54. Featuring a worn tackle twill team crest, “8” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Woodley” across the affixed nameplate. The jersey shows heavy use, with marks, burns, stains and paint transfer over the front and sleeves. As an added bonus, we have a 1970s Kansas City Scouts pennant (rolled and creased tip with pinholes and toning), a 1974-75 Scouts team yearbook (low grade with staining, creasing and soiling), a 1975-76 Scouts pocket schedule (moderate wear) and a trio of modern Scouts photos (8” x 10”). There are also 20 Kansas City Blues player photos, with most signed, including Norman Dennis, Ron Buchanan, Brian Glenwright, Terry Gray, Camille Henry, Georges Guilbault, Robbie Irons, Fred Hucul, Jaroslav Jirik, Gerald Lemire, Jim Pritchard, Ralph Stewart, Murray Flegel and a few others. The signatures display well, with moderate wear to the photos.
