Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

Guy Lafleur, the former Quebec Remparts' scoring sensation, appears here on his 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee rookie card, with this example almost in the exact same condition as it was when it was pulled from a wax pack some 48 years ago. The oval that encircles the young star's image is right of center, with the slightest of edge dings, (bottom edge near the lower left corner), looking to be the only flaw that KSA detected, the company awarding a lofty mark of 8.5 NMM+ to the alluring specimen. The folks at O-Pee-Chee seemed to agree with hockey experts back in the day, with the cartoon on the back of card #148 stating "Guy will be a superstar". Complementing the rookie card is a third-year Lafleur Topps issue with its condition-sensitive red borders very well preserved indeed, with card #72 also meriting 8.5 NMM+ status. The KSA holders are free of any unsightly scratches/flaws. Two terrific cards for a Guy, Guy, Guy card shrine.
