Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Beginning with Toronto when the club was still recognized as the St Pats, Hap Day would spend 10 seasons representing the Blue and White, later contributing a second decade to the Leafs from behind the bench. We have a collection of vintage Maple Leafs documents totaling 5, with each signed by the Hall of Fame member. Included, we have a pair of Standard Assignment Agreements, with one from 1953 for Theodore Toppazzini, the other from 1954 for John Poland. This is followed by an Option Agreement “C” form from 1951 for Robert Robertson, a uniform agreement from 1946 for Hugh Mair and a memorandum for an agreement from 1946 for Eric Pogue. Each Day signature remains bold with no issues, with no obtrusive overlapping from text or other handwriting. The documents themselves show handling wear commensurate with their former use, with fold lines, staple holes and toning, along with the odd crease or wrinkle.
