Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Finishing second in the Canadian Division and led on the score sheet by Baldy Northcott, the Montreal Maroons would win 26 games in 1932-33 before being eliminated in the playoffs by Detroit, losing a two-game total-goal series 5-2. We have a desirable Dow Beer framed advertisement display featuring the 1932-33 Maroons. At approx 12 ½” x 29 ½”, the full team is pictured including the Dow girl, with a full colour Dow logo centered over the top. Set in the original 16 ½” x 33 ½” finished wooden frame, “Biere Dow Ale” appears across the front in gold, with the scarce display original and highly sought after.
A number of vertical fold lines are present, evenly spaced, with some toning, creasing and surface wear also visible. The frame itself exhibits moderate wear including to the gold lettering, with tape added across the backing along with a number of affixed staples. Despite the condition issues, the advertisement displays well, and would fit nicely into any advanced Maroons collection.
