Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Many hockey card collectors were (and still are!), stoked about O-Pee-Chee's groovy design in 1971-72, with some jaws dropping back in the day when they discovered Ken Dryden's rookie card. No goalie had ever been pictured wearing his mask on a hockey card before - this was cool! Two coveted Dryden RCs highlight this all-Canadiens offering, with Ken's O-Pee-Chee rookie graded NM 7, while a Topps version of card #45 is even nicer at NM-MT 8. Both of the holders exhibit some filmy blemishes, more evident on the holder housing the OPC version. Without the aforementioned are two beauty MINT 9 OPC cards of fellow Hall of Famers Henri Richard (#120) and 145-Guy Lapointe. "CANADIENS" in purple and that oval - oh, how these cards send guys of a certain age back to a wonderful time!
