The dream of owning a Bobby Orr rookie card can come true here, with collectors not requiring a high grade example to be content destined to contemplate this encapsulated 1966-67 Topps card. We spot multiple creases through the SGC holder, labeled "GOOD 2", with however none right through Bobby's face. A quarter-size U-shaped crease descends from the top edge to almost reach Orr's right ear, affecting a bit of his forehead. Visible edge and corner wear, along with peripheral creasing are also grade-lowering flaws which however aren't that drastic when admiring the card at arm's length, or at a certain angle. "A rushing defenceman who can set up goals as well as score them" in the write-up on the back was bang-on, however a little off was the "will certainly become one of the future stars in NHL." The young phenom was already a future star and then a proven star by the end of the '66-67 campaign. A thought-provoking image of arguably hockey's greatest player ever awaits the high bidder.
We should note some residue over both the front and reverse of the SGC holder.
