Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Manufactured by the Allied-Grand Doll Mfg. Co. Inc., of Brooklyn, New York in 1950, the Jackie Robinson doll is well known to most Brooklyn collectors, and is a must for any advanced Robinson collection. At 13” in height and made of composite material, the legs and arms are articulated along with the head, but we sadly must report that the doll’s pants and jersey are not original, with the “B” also missing from his cap. There is heavy crazing throughout, with much of the surface brittle and flaking, which is especially common for these dolls. Despite the heavy wear, the face remains fairly clean, with a small metal stand included to facilitate display.
