Ralph Keller's wondrous wool Baltimore Clippers jersey is a first-year style as the franchise set sail across two decades of professional hockey. The sweater, from the 1962-63 season, sports a loose Gerry Cosby label in the collar with a size 44 tag sewn beside. Vintage creamy tie-neck styling with original (and braided) string in the neck. Embroidered canvas-back team crest features a skating skipper design and a drop-shadow alternate captain's "A" sewn onto the left breast. Shiny twill number 4's are centered on the black arm accent stripes that run all the way to the cuffs. Drop-shadow two-layer number 4 on the back. Well-washed and worn with loads of pilling throughout. Wear includes a number of smaller unrepaired holes and no less than 25 team repairs on the front, back and both arms.
Ralph Keller is best known for his time spent with the Hershey Bears where he played 737 games and was the captain in the final two seasons from 1972 to 1974. His number has since been retired by the team. The Clippers were members of the American Hockey League from 1962 to 1976, and then played one season in the Southern Hockey League and three more in the EHL. Baltimore began as a farm team for the New York Rangers, and helped develop Hall of Fame players including, Eddie Giacomin, Doug Harvey, Jacques Plante and Jean Ratelle.
