Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

Low grade Topps grab bag here has colorful representatives from three years, with a 1957-58 ensemble just two cards shy of completion. A small percentage make it to VG but generally P-F-G is the range and key rookie cards of Hall, Bucyk and Ullman are all P, with the latter looking to have been autographed and displaying the best, with however back damage from scrapbook removal. Howe has one pinhole in the upper left corner and is otherwise VG, while a VG Pilote RC is also notable. .....Cards from '65-66 also have condition issues, with the last seven (#s 122 to 128) the only ones not present. The Esposito rookie looks decent but is affected by a tape stain on both the front and back, (o/w VG+), while Giacomin (F) and Henderson (G) rookies are joined by hammered (P) rookies of Cheevers and Cournoyer. Mostly P-F-G cards among the rest, including two marked checklists. .....A starter set (79/132) from '67-68 includes RCs of Lemaire (F) and Sanderson (P with back damage), crease-free cards of Howe and Hull but with a tape stain in the upper border, as well as a number of cards with a strip of magic tape across top (Esposito, Mikita and three dozen others), making the '67-68s the least-appealing group. Relatively inexpensive fun awaits the new owner here. The two cards missing from '57-58 are 52-Gendron and 53-Worsley.
