Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
The only goaltender in history to represent two different countries at the Canada Cup, Chico Resch spent parts of 14 seasons in the NHL, with a Stanley Cup won with the Islanders in 1979. Originating from the glorious time in New York hockey when the Isles started their Cup dynasty, we have a twice-signed stick used by the Moose Jaw native, with this type of model seeing action in both 1979-80 and 1980-81. A Victoriaville Pro Vic 100 model, “Resch” appears over the upper shaft, with the original white tape in place over the blade and knob. Exhibiting light use, there is some wear to the underside of the blade and some blue paint transfer, with some age toning/spotting to the tape. Glenn has signed over both the upper shaft and taped section of blade in ballpoint, adding a matching personalization to both.
