Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
The first runner-up for the Hart Memorial Trophy in 1997, Paul Kariya spent 15 seasons in the NHL, with his international resume especially impressive, winning gold at the 2002 Winter Olympics and 1994 World Championships. We have a signed stick used by the BC native in the mid-to-late-1990s, with this particular example gifted from the superstar directly to our consignor, Ken Daniels. A sportscaster with CBC from 1985 to 1997, Daniels is currently the play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings on Fox Sports Detroit. An Easton Ultra Lite Graphite model, “Kariya” appears stamped over the stem of the inserted Easton blade, with the original white tape over the handle and knob. The blade tape has been removed to facilitate the attractive, flowing black marker signature that has been administered over the front side. Just light use is exhibited, with minimal wear to the blade along with a few marks to the stem and lower shaft. An LOA from Ken Daniels will accompany.
