Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
One of hockey’s true iron men, Jaromir Jagr is a five-time NHL scoring champion, with a Hart Memorial Trophy won as the league’s MVP in 1999. We have a signed stick that saw action during the mid-to-late-1990s, with this particular example gifted from the superstar directly to our consignor, Ken Daniels. A sportscaster with CBC from 1985 to 1997, Daniels is currently the play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings on Fox Sports Detroit. A KOHO Corebeam model with inserted Canadien blade, factory codes appear over the underside of the shaft and blade, with the stick retaining its original black tape over the blade and handle, with a few strands missing from the blade. An LOA from Ken Daniels will accompany.
Heavy use is exhibited, with considerable wear including chipping to the black surface over the blade. There is also some clear plastic residue over the back of the blade, with numerous marks to the shaft including blue paint transfer and rubbing to the identifiers. Jagr has signed in black marker over the upper shaft, with no issues for the signature.
