Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Three groups of Canadian Football League cards here are led by a complete 88-card set from 1959, with cards averaging right around VG. Some of the keys are nicer than that, with rookie cards of Russ Jackson and Angelo Mosca in crease-free EX condition and that of Tommy Joe Coffey at VG-EX. Other notables include Jackie Parker (VG) and the two cards with checklist backs; 15-Al Dorow is marked and miscut (otherwise VG), while 44-Don Barry is unmarked and G with rounded corners. Also to mention are nine other miscut cards and numerous rookie cards, including those of Lewis, Lunsford, Luzzi and Thelen (MC). .....A near set of 1962 cards have been separated from their original two-card panels but show generally only light handling and wear, with intermittent creased examples definitely a minority. Again, a dozen or so miscut cards are spotted including 100-Jackson and 102-Lancaster. We'd say easily VG as an overall average, with eight team photo/checklist cards all marked. Required to complete the 169-card set are #s 9-Fieldgate, 41-Ecuyer, 73-Patterson, 90-Locklin and 137-Mann. .....Completing the trio is a near set (87/88) from 1963, with 19-Wayne Harris the missing card. Condition is similar, with mostly crease-free cards which exhibit lighter corner/edge wear, with VG to VG+ looking like a fair assessment of the overall average. The last card, the #88 checklist, is among the exceptions; it's marked and Poor with multiple creases and warping. Time to check your list and get back to us if necessary.
