Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Extremely rare and utterly charming with its period construction and early graphics, we have a seldom-seen antique hockey pennant from approx. the 1910s, with this likely unique example made for the St Michael’s College School hockey team (Toronto). At approx. 22” in length and hand-cut, the teal-coloured felt pennant feature’s wonderful screened-on graphics with a generic player on left, along with “St Michaels” on right in attractive old English font. While condition is not optimal, the pennant survives admirably, with a few small tears, moth holes and discolouration, with the top two tassels missing along with damage to the bottom pair. Despite these issues, the pennant displays fairly well.
