Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Selected by Toronto in the 2nd round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft, defenceman Ken Spangler first spent time in both the AHL and WHL, with a single season in Newmarket in late-1980s. Recycled from the previous season, we have a Saints jersey that was issued to Spangler during his lone season with the club, in 1987-88. A mostly detached Maska label with “86 07” born on date tag remain along the collar, with an embroidered CCM crest over the reverse bottom hem. Featuring an intricate team crest with “Saints” embroidered, “4” appears over the sleeves and verso in single twill, with matching maple leaf crests over each shoulder. With evidence of a former nameplate, the jersey remains in beautiful condition, with no discernible wear visible. We should also note that a few small tack holes are present, most likely originating from a former mounting.
