Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Acquired by Montreal prior to the Expos inaugural season in 1969, Rusty Staub became the biggest baseball star in the city since Jackie Robinson. Known affectionately as the “Grand Orange” to the Jarry Park hopefuls, Staub would go on to a lengthy career with a number of clubs, just falling short of 3000 hits with 2,716. We have a bat used by the New Orleans native circa 1969-71. A Louisville Slugger 125 signature model from the 1964-79 labeling period, the 34” lumber exhibits deep stampings, with the model “S256” stamped over the knob along with now-faint handwritten “10”. Moderate use is exhibited, with compression marks along with an area of deadwood along the underside of the barrel.
