Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018

Definitely different from what we're accustomed to seeing and somewhat mystifying is this batch of 1962-63 Parkies, with 41 cards slabbed by Beckett and the vast majority of them in the P-F-G range! Leading condition-wise at VG 3 are #s 22-Stasiuk and 50-Johnson, with five at G-VG 2.5; 6-Stewart, 11-Pulford, 37-Goyette, 44-Backstrom and 45-Bonin. Notables among nine Good 2s are 21-Ullman and 54-J.C. Tremblay RC. Most plentiful are Fair 1.5 examples, 19 of them featuring 4-Mahovlich, 7-Horton, 14-Shack, 15-Keon, 48-Geoffrion and 53-Geoffrion. Downright Poor 1 are a half-dozen, including 16-Bower, 38-Richard and 39-Beliveau. Now then, 13 raw cards complete the assembly, with multiple creases rendering 49-Plante P and a significant crease through both Gordie Howe examples (#s 30, 31), sending them to F, before paper loss on the back of the latter is spotted; change that to P. Similarly low grade are the rest, with 18-Mahovlich and 32-Delvecchio among them. Not present are the "Zip" card and the checklist.
