This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Representing the second of four consecutive Stanley Cup championships for the New York Islanders in 1981 – with a playoff run that witnessed the boys from Long Island lose only three of eighteen games – we have a Bob Bourne 1980-81 New York Islanders Stanley Cup championship salesman's sample ring. Size 9 ½ and gold plated with an approx. weight of 28 grams, two zirconias sit atop a blue stone centered on the tableau, encompassed by both “Stanley Cup Champions” and “1981”. The left shank pictures the Stanley Cup set atop an NHL shield logo with “NHL League Champions” below, while the right feature’s a full-colour enamel Islanders logo with “Bourne” above and “14” below. "SBRLGB" is engraved onto the inner band, along with a sample number of “SA-151910”.
Light to moderate wear is present on the keepsake, with surface scratches present, as well as a few small dings and nicks, especially along both the band and edges.
