After leading Canada to an Olympic gold medal the previous season, Mario Lemieux had a very productive 2002-03 campaign with the Pittsburgh Penguins with 91 points in 67 games. Super Mario, who scored 28 goals and had 63 assists, wore this white Penguins home gamer in a game against Ottawa on Feb. 12, 2003. “66 C” is handwritten in black marker on the size 56 flag tag that sits in the back of the neck. “Pittsburgh Penguins Game Worn Authentic” tagging above it is signed in black marker by Pens equipment manager Steve Latin. “2/12 Ottawa” is handwritten in black marker on the fight strap. Game wear includes a few faint black marks on the front tail and a small board burn on the back of the lower right sleeve, on the black portion just below the lower white stripe.
Latin’s name and job title appear on the bottom of the signed neck tagging, which has “Official only with signature” printed in red below. Comes with a Penguins Chronicles LOA, a DVD of the game and an additional LOA.
